Connect Mid-Hudson is a study project focusing on three Mid-Hudson counties: Orange, Dutchess, and Ulster. This study aims to identify and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the existing transit networks in these counties. The overall goal of this partnership and study is to identify opportunities for the regional transit services and connections to improve. Throughout the study, there is a specific focus on managing congestion and creating more coordination between different transit systems.
Areas of Analysis
Some of the main areas that we analyzed during this study include: the effectiveness of inner-city coach services, opportunities for 21st-century technology (such as smartphone apps) to be integrated into public transit, and capital improvements to improve transit and reduce congestion. The study resulted in substantial findings and recommendations for the future. This plan should help these Mid-Hudson counties to successfully create and maintain well-oiled transit services.
